A large, heavy solid object,
(a stone building block), needs to
be moved in a particular direction.
|
Transform the object into a wheel and
roll it in any required direction.
The object can now revolve on its centre
of gravity, therefore, its weight and size becomes less relevant.
|
TRANSFORMING A BLOCK INTO A WHEEL
By attaching semi-circular Runners to all sides of the object, (on both ends of the objct)
the object is transformed into a wheel.
Wooden blocks
are secured
together by a
wooden stake
which is
secured on both
ends by wooden
pins. |
|
Wooden blocks
are secured to the wooden plank
by wooden wedges. |
|
The Runners are made from blocks
of wood attached to wooden planks.
No nails are used in building of
Runners.
The Runners are bound to sides of
object with rope.
On incline, two men drag a log-type
chuck just behind the Runners to
prevent the object from rolling back.
Runners assist in manueverability
and accurate object positioning and placement on the construction site. |
A long, strong rope is placed around the object, as shown above, and tied into a loop.
The Top rope of the loop is pulled forward, causing the object to roll forward.
The Bottom rope of the loop is kept taut but is allowed to travel backwards as the
object moves forward.
The tension of the bottom rope allows for the Top rope to retain its grip on the object. |
PLEASE NOTE:
Small scale experiments conducted to examine the above concept were successful.
